Quick chat
Within 5 working days
A 20-minute call with the recruiter about the job, pay and what you need from us.

1 to 2 weeks later
A conversation with the hiring manager, usually on site so you can see where you would work.

Within 2 days of meeting
We call you with the decision either way. Then right-to-work checks, references and your induction.
Tell us what would help
We will make adjustments at any stage, from the application form to your first week. You do not have to tell us why, and asking will not affect our decision.
Email adjustments@stilwell.example or call 0113 000 0000 (placeholder contact details, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm).
Candidate charter
- We reply to every applicant within 5 working days of the closing date.
- We tell you the pay before you interview.
- We give feedback to everyone we interview.
- We never ghost you after an interview.
Using AI in your application
You are welcome to use AI tools to check your spelling or organise your thoughts. Please make sure everything you tell us is true and sounds like you, because we will talk it through at interview.
We do not use AI to reject applications. A person reads every application.
Recruitment scams
Criminals sometimes pretend to recruit for well-known employers. We will never:
- ask you to pay for training, equipment, a card or a visa
- ask for bank details before a written offer
- offer a job without an interview
- contact you from a free email address or only by messaging app
If you are not sure a message is from us, email recruitment@stilwell.example (placeholder) and report it to Action Fraud.
Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to apply?
About 5 minutes on a phone. You can upload a CV or answer a few short questions instead. There is no cover letter.
Do I need a CV?
No. If you do not have one, answer the short questions in the form and we will use those instead.
When will I hear back?
Within 5 working days of the closing date, whatever the outcome. If we have not been in touch, email recruitment@stilwell.example (placeholder).
What is the interview like?
A 20-minute phone or video call first, then a face-to-face conversation with the team, usually on site. We send the questions' themes in advance.
Can I visit the site before I accept?
Yes. We will show you round so you can see the welfare facilities and meet the people you would work with.
I do not have a CSCS card. Can I still apply?
Yes. We pay for your card and give you paid time to get it.
Do you offer part-time or flexible working?
Yes, in every team, where the work allows. Tell us what you need when you apply. Asking will not count against you.
What reasonable adjustments can you make?
Anything that helps, for example extra time, questions in advance, a quiet room, a support worker or a step-free site visit. Email adjustments@stilwell.example (placeholder).
Can I apply for more than one job?
Yes. If we think you suit a different job better, we will tell you.
Do you sponsor visas?
Some roles can be sponsored. Each job advert says whether sponsorship is available.
How much will I be paid?
Every advert shows the pay or pay range. If an advert says 'Salary not stated', ask us and we will tell you before interview.
Is my information kept safe?
Yes. We only use it to consider you for jobs and delete it after 12 months unless you ask us to keep it longer. See our privacy notice.
Can I use AI to help with my application?
Yes, to check spelling or organise your thoughts. Make sure the answers are true and in your own words, because we will talk them through with you.
